FORGIVE THEM THEIR SIN

"And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep."    (Acts 7:60)
On  Monday August 6, 2012 some terrorists attacked a branch of renowned Pentecostal church in a hilly town in Central Nigeria, and by the time they were through with their ungodly enterprise, 19 worshippers have been dispatched to the world beyond. The Church, as expected, officially condemned the premeditated shedding of innocents' blood. Thereafter, members of the Church across the globe embarked on prayers for God's intervention in this unfortunate carnage. They prayed earnestly for God to forgive the assailants and  convert them into instruments of righteousness. Imagine that extraordinary acts of forgiveness.
Christians, as followers of Christ, are expected to forgive their persecutors just like Christ preached and practised. In the Acts of the Apostles, Stephen at the point of death in the hands of his persecutors, prayed to God to forgive them.  Only a true saint can forgive his enemies. Can you pardon people who persecuting you? As a student, ask God to give you the loveliness to forgive those who may have offended you, including your parents, brothers and sisters, classmates,  teachers and neighbours. When you do, God will also forgive you when you ask him?
Challenge:                 Forgive that you may also be forgiven.
Prayer:                       O God, give me the grace to forgive.
Further reading:       Matthew 5:38-48
Quote:              Christians are commanded to forgive.
