"How long halt ye between two opinions?" 1Kings 18:21b
Success
never depends on chance; it is a product of choice. Success, more often
than not, comes by being very decisive in taking prompt actions towards
your goals. Most times, success eludes students when they delay too
much before deciding on profitable line of actions. Great opportunities
are lost and precious time wasted through...

FORGIVE AND FORGET

"And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any...."
Mark 11:25
There
is no yoke that is heavier than the burden of unforgiving spirit. It
ties your heart to that of the offender with a chord of malice. Your
heart cannot enjoy true peace except you forgive the offender...
HELP FOR THE HONEST
"For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield."
(Psalms 5:12)
What
does honesty have to do with blessing? Plenty. Righteousness is like
magnet which always attracts divine favour. When a boy or girl chooses
to walk in a way that will make God happy, then, he or she has taken a
decision that will make the heavenly Father to bless him or her....
HUMILITY IN SUCCESS
"Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect; but I follow after"
(Philippians 3:12a)
We
can learn a principle from Paul the Apostle in the Bible text above.
Paul, then Saul, used most of his adolescent and youth period to fight
against the followers of Christ. He witnessed the martyrdom of Stephen
before his own miraculous conversion while he was yet on another
vengeance...

Mary - Mother of Jesus
Mary was a young girl, probably only about 12 or 13 years old when the angel Gabriel came to her. She had recently become engaged to a carpenter named Joseph. Mary was an ordinary Jewish girl, looking forward to marriage. Suddenly her life would forever be changed.
Mary
was fearful and troubled in the presence of the angel. She could never
have expected to hear the most incredible news — that she...
Misconceptions About Mary
There are many misconceptions among Christians about Mary, the
mother of Jesus. These are just a few of the doctrines about Mary that
seem to have no biblical foundation.
Misconception or Immaculate Conception?
The Immaculate Conception is a doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia,
the Immaculate Conception refers to the sinless state of Mary. Pope
Pius IX...
Joseph - Earthly Father of Jesus
God chose Joseph to be the earthly father of Jesus. The Bible tells us in the Gospel of Matthew, that Joseph was a righteous man. His actions toward Mary,
his fiance, revealed he was a kind and sensitive man. When Mary told
Joseph she was pregnant, he had every right to feel disgraced. He knew
the child was not his own, and Mary's apparent unfaithfulness carried a
grave social stigma. Joseph not...
God the Father
God the Father is the first Person of the Trinity, which also includes his Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
Christians believe there is one God who exists in three Persons.
This mystery of the faith cannot be understood by the human mind but is
a key doctrine of Christianity.
While the word Trinity does not appear in the Bible, several episodes
include the simultaneous appearance of Father,...
Jesus Christ - Lord and Savior of the World
Jesus
of Nazareth—he is the Christ, the "Anointed One," or the "Messiah." The
name "Jesus" is derived from the Hebrew-Aramaic word "Yeshua,"
meaning "Yahweh [the Lord] is salvation." The name "Christ" is actually
a title for Jesus. It comes from the Greek word "Christos," meaning
"the Anointed One," or "Messiah" in Hebrew.
Jesus is the central figure in Christianity. His life, message and ministry...
Christain Wise Saying
Sometimes a little saying haunts us for the rest of our lives. This
collection is aimed at the casual reader with the intent that some
phrase might strike an inner chord that will open new doors of wisdom
and change one’s life for the better. However it should also be used by
preachers for as it is said “Those who never quote will never
themselves be quoted.” In the end I would like to apologize...

He Rewards the Faithful

He Rewards the Faithful
TEXT: 2 TIMOTHY 1: 8-18
Key verse: “The Lord
give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and
was not ashamed of my chain: But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out
very diligently, and found me” (2 Timothy 1:16,17).

Judgment Day In Judah
Judgment Day In Judah
TEXT: LAMENTATIONS 1:12-22
Key verse: “From above
hath he sent fire into my bones, and it prevaileth against them: he
hath spread a net for my feet, he hath turned me back: he hath made me
desolate and faint all the day" (Lamentations 1:13).
For
a time, it had seemed as though God’s word to punish Judah for her
sin as proclaimed by Jeremiah 25:9-11 would not...
Your Enemy Is Your Friend!
Your Enemy Is Your Friend!
TEXT: 2 SAMUEL 1:17-27
Key verse: “And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son” (2 Samuel 1:17).
King David had his own shortcomings as
a man. But none of them was ingratitude or disloyalty to friends. None
still was a tendency to hate his enemy, as would the carnal man.
Today’s reading reveals this beloved monarch...

Victory Over Satan
Key verse: “These
shall make war with the lamb, and the lamb shall overcome them: for he
is Lord of Lords, and King of Kings: and they that are with him are
called, and chosen and faithful” (Revelation 17:14).
The rash of unyielding problems all over the world clearly
indicates the imminence of the end of this world and the revelation of
Jesus as the King of kings and Lord of lords. The shed-blood...
PROGRESS DESPITE PROBLEMS
"And Gideon... and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them"
(Judges 8:4)
The
name Gideon means "Destroyer," "Mighty warrior," or "Feller (of
trees)". As a young man, Gideon was working in his father's wheat farm
inside a grape plantation hidden from the Midianites and other
plunderers. The people of Israel have been under grievous siege from
the...

Great and wonderful are all your works:Psalm 98:1, 2-3ab, 7-8, 9
R. (Rev. 15: 3b) Great and wonderful are all your works, Lord, mighty God!
Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done wondrous deeds; His right hand has won victory for him, his holy arm.
R. Great and wonderful are all your works, Lord, mighty God!
The LORD has made his salvation known: in the sight of the nations he
has revealed his justice. He has remembered his kindness and his

He said many considered to be absolutely barren will be fruitful.
He said family histories will be re-written, including an end to premature death.

He said some will experience massive transfer of wealth from the wicked to...
Jesus Is Our Hope
Jeremiah
29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the
LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a
hope.
Zephaniah 3:17 The
LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will
rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will
exult over you with loud singing.

CONTENTMENT IN EVERYTHING
"I have learned, in whatever state I am, therewith to be content" (Philippians 4:11)
Apostle
Paul before his conversion had everything at his beck and call. He had
fame, influence and power. As a well trained lawyer, he had great
prospects in the Jewish establishment. After his conversion, he took to
tent-making alongside his evangelistic ministry so as to provide
himself...
BEES AND BUTTERFLIES
"Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain...." (Proverbs 31: 30)
Butterflies
and bees share some features in common. For instance, they are both
flying insects, always looking for nectar from flowers. However, there
are some sharp contrasts between the two creatures. Butterflies are
usually flamboyant in appearance with admirable colours. Bees are ugly
and not so favoured....
A PORTION AT A TIME
"Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase" (Job 8:7)
A
century is a period of hundred years in a dating system. A decade is
period of ten years. Each of the years consists of 365 or366 days. A
century can be accomplished a day at a time. You can break up your work
into small parts that you can finish at a time. Never despise the day
of small beginning. Let your...
DEVOTION IN SPITE OF DECREES
"Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he ...prayed ... as he did aforetime." (Daniel 6:10)
Prince
Daniel was of a royal lineage from Judah, but he was also a rebel with
cause. He was pious, principled, and plucky. No one dare intimidate nor
scare him with any draconian decree. King Nebuchadnezzar
has just issued an anti-God-of-Israel decree forbidding...
